Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell (born in New York City) is an American television reporter, commentator and anchor of NBC News based at Washington D.C. Mitchell holds a bachelor's degree in English language and culture from University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell was hired as a reporter by KYW Radio and TV Philadelphia in the year 1967. In 1976 she was a part of the CBS-affiliated WDVM-TV which was based in Washington DC (then WTOP). Two years later she became a general reporter for NBC News in Washington. In 1981 she started reporting from the White House. In 1988 she became the the chief reporter for Congress. Mitchell was promoted to Chief White House correspondent in 1992. And chief foreign affairs Correspondent for NBC News. Mitchell is a former panelist as well as presenter of the TV program Meet the Press. Mitchell was a part of the panel during the 1988 Presidential Debates, which featured George Bush, and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell got married to Alan Greenspan the former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005, Mitchell was awarded the highly coveted Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government as well as in 2004 she was awarded the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) honored Mitchell by awarding her the Leonard Zeidenberg Award for her contribution to the protection and protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell was the first reporter to cover White House stories for NBC News during the time of Ronald Reagan as president between 1981 and 1988. Mitchell reported on many noteworthy issues, such as the arms control, the budget tax as well as the Iran Contra scandal. Mitchell also went to many summits with the help of President Reagan along with Mikhail Gorbachev.
